CORNWALL’S EARLY HELP HUB: Support for Families, Carers and Professionals

At Daisy Fays, we understand that family life can sometimes be challenging. Whether you’re a parent, carer or professional working with children, it’s reassuring to know that support is available when it’s needed most. One key service offering early intervention in Cornwall is the Early Help Hub.

What is the Early Help Hub?

The Early Help Hub is the single point of access for early help services in Cornwall. It connects families and professionals with the right support at the right time—before problems escalate. The service is available to children and young people aged pre-birth to 18 years (or up to 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities).

Early help is not about doing things for families, but working with them to build on their strengths and create long-term positive change.

Who Can Use the Early Help Hub?

Anyone concerned about a child or young person can request help:

  • Parents and carers
  • Health visitors and GPs
  • Nurseries, schools and colleges
  • Youth workers and social care staff

You do not need a referral from a professional—you can self-refer using a simple online form.

What Kind of Support is Offered?

The Early Help Hub can support families experiencing:

  • Emotional and mental health concerns
  • Behavioural challenges
  • Parenting difficulties
  • Family breakdown
  • Housing issues
  • Domestic abuse
  • Substance misuse
  • Financial stress

Support is tailored to the needs of the child or young person and their family, and might include practical advice, group sessions, 1:1 support, or access to local services and community-based help.

How to Make a Request for Help

To request early help support, simply complete the Early Help Request for Help Form online via the Cornwall Council website. It’s available to both families and professionals:
Submit a Request for Help

Professionals are encouraged to complete a Team Around the Family (TAF) or Early Help Assessment (EHA) with the family before submission, where possible.

Why Early Help Matters

Research shows that providing the right support early on can make a significant difference to a child’s wellbeing, relationships, education and future. Early intervention can reduce the need for more intensive support later and helps families feel empowered, not judged.

At Daisy Fays, we are committed to working with families and professionals to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive. If you think early help might benefit your family or a child you’re working with, we encourage you to reach out.
