Hi I'm Lynn

Nursery Manager Falmouth

I’m Lynn and I’m the Nursery Manager of our setting in Falmouth.

I have worked in childcare for 23 years and have managed Falmouth since 2017.

My role as Nursery Manager is to support the staff, children and parents in our setting and ensure the nursery runs smoothly every day. I support our children with special needs and am also the designated safeguarding lead.

I live with my partner and 2 daughters and in my spare time I like walking my two bulldogs, Quinn and Dave.

I am originally from Ireland so like to visit my family there as often as possible. My partner is from Newcastle, so we like to also visit there to watch United Whenever they are playing at home.

Assistant Manager Falmouth

I’m Carly the Deputy Manager at our Falmouth Nursery.

I have worked in childcare since qualifying in Summer 2001. I have worked with all of our age ranges, starting with babies all the way through to our Pre-schoolers.

I am currently the Toddler room lead and I enjoy watching the children gain confidence with their speech, their physical abilities and engaging in fun/messy activities that inspire their wider play.

The other part of my role is to support our Manager with the day to day running of our setting- spending time with the other team members and children and building relationships with our parents/carers.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my daughter and my husband and our extended family. We enjoy exploring our beautiful Cornish coast and countryside.

Baby Room

Our baby room which has recently been renovated in August 2023 is a lovely bright area with open space for the babies to explore.

Other Rooms

Off our main baby room, we have 3 other rooms which are used for sensory, sleeping and other age-related activities. Our baby room team are nurturing and gentle and enjoy building solid partnerships with the parents/guardians and child for this journey to begin.

Our toddler room is a purpose-built extension that is a light airy room which backs out into our garden area. This allows for free flow play, where the children can access the garden throughout their day, whatever the weather.

Toddler Room

Our toddler room team are energetic and enthusiastic and love to encourage the curiosities that a young mind brings. This room focuses on beginning the journey of understanding the world through play and often, messy and creative activities.

Preschool Room

Our nursery journey ends in our preschool room. Our preschool is split into three rooms depending on age and SEN requirements which allows for age appropriate and school readiness activities to be allocated appropriately. We have 3 early years teachers who work within our busy preschool team who focus on independence and ensuring that the children have the knowledge and understanding needed for the next step in their education. The children have access to free flow play in the garden, where they use a mud kitchen, a vegetable patch and a large area where they can climb, use bikes and have lots of experiences necessary to their development at this age.

Activities

The activities that our team offer is a mix of both adult and child led and are planned around exciting events, including local and national celebrations or themes that have interested the children and they want to know more about.

Our team at Falmouth have a broad set of knowledge, experience and qualifications which allows for a highly qualified and robust team. They work hard to ensure the partnerships with parents and children are strong which allows the trust needed when leaving your children with others. Time is taken to embed core British values and important social skills into everyday experiences for all children within our setting. We encourage the use of books, exploring the natural environment, imagination/role play and using many materials to mark make throughout every day’s essential play. At the end of your child’s journey within our nursery, we wave farewell with a fun and usually tearful graduation ceremony where we welcome families to celebrate your child’s time and achievement with us.
