At Daisy Fays, we believe that nurturing the next generation of Early Years professionals is just as important as nurturing the children in our care. Our apprentices are the future of Daisy Fays — valued, supported, and celebrated as an essential part of our team from day one.
Supporting Every Step of the Journey
Starting an apprenticeship is an exciting journey, and we make sure our apprentices feel confident and cared for from the very beginning. During their first month, they complete a thorough induction to introduce them to everything that makes Daisy Fays special — from Health & Safety and Safeguarding procedures to understanding their role in supporting children’s learning and development.
Each apprentice is also paired with a dedicated mentor within their setting. These mentors meet regularly with apprentices to offer guidance, feedback, and emotional support, ensuring they feel part of the team and never alone in their learning journey.
Overseeing the whole process is our Training Support Officer, Sarah, who works closely with each apprentice to tailor their learning experience, helping them achieve the best possible outcomes and develop into confident, capable practitioners.
Real Growth, Real Opportunities
We’re proud of how many of our current leaders began their careers as Daisy Fays apprentices.
- Katy, now Deputy Manager at our Tresillian nursery, started with us as an apprentice.
- Georgia, Toddler Room Lead at Helston, completed her apprenticeship here too.
- Lindsay, our Manager at Tresillian, recently achieved her Level 5 qualification.
- Lauren, Deputy Manager at Truro, and Phoebe, Practitioner at Tresillian, are both currently completing their Level 5 qualifications.
These success stories show that with passion, dedication, and the right support, there’s no limit to how far a Daisy Fays apprenticeship can take you.
Learning That’s Personal and Practical
Our apprentices take part in monthly teaching sessions in our dedicated training rooms in Truro, as well as regular one-to-one meetings with Sarah. These sessions are designed to suit each apprentice’s learning style — offering practical, hands-on experience that builds confidence and essential skills.
Through their time with us, apprentices develop not only their professional knowledge but also the interpersonal skills that make a difference every day — communicating with children, parents, colleagues, and even Ofsted inspectors with confidence and care.
Hear It from Our Apprentices
Our apprentices often tell us how supported and valued they feel. Here’s what some of them had to say:
“I am gaining independence and confidence by planning activities.”
“I feel valued because I have responsibilities and get lots of positive feedback from my team.”
“The Training Support Officer is really supportive and is always there when I need her.”
“I feel like part of the team and supported both professionally and personally.”
“I am learning how to work well in a team, deal with sensitive situations, and support other apprentices.”
