Babies
Understanding the world
I will be exploring my environment in all weathers and have a curiosity for living things. I love the different natural textures that are around us and I am noticing the changes in weather.
Physical Development
I will be developing my fine motor skills by using various tools exploring smaller objects and playing outdoors in the open space. I am great at sitting in a chair and can use my spoon to feed myself and drink from an open cup.
Expressive Art and Design
I will be responding to sound and moving music, while anticipating phrases in songs and games. I am showing an interest in instruments, and able to express myself through sensory play.
Mathematics
I will be enjoying a large range of objects and expanding my knowledge of shapes, sizes and patterns. I will be great at stacking games and showing an interest in puzzles.
Personal, Social and Emotional
I am developing my own personality, sharing my likes and dislikes while exploring any environment with adults and children.
Literacy
I will be enjoying songs and rhymes and be eager to join in. I am beginning to copy hand movements recognising tunes and repetative patterns.
Communication and Language
I will be a chatty chick putting 2–3 words together so I can ask simple questions and understand the response. I am able to listen to those around me and respond to others.

Toddlers
Understanding the world
I will be able to make connections between my family while beginning to notice differences in people. I continue to explore the world and natural environment around me.
Physical Development
I will be using physical equipment indoors and outdoors while sometimes managing risks. It is through play I am developing my control of tools and equipment. I am showing interest in potty training and am able to make an adult aware of my personal needs.
Expressive Art and Design
I will be using my imagination to bring ideas to my role-play. I enjoy meaningful mark making and using different materials and mediums.
Mathematics
I will be practising my mathematical language through singing and rhymes. I love to explore shapes and space using resources and my body.
Personal, Social and Emotional
I will be confident in exploring a range of new activities in new environments and be able to take turns with my peers.
Literacy
I will be selecting books and showing an interest in the stories and the characters. I am able to recognise print in the environment and can point out the first letter of my name.
Communication and Language
I will be a happy hen using a range of vocabulary, using descriptive language and linking five words together. I am able to understand instructions and respond appropriately.

Pre School
Understanding the world
I am continuing to expand my knowledge on the environment by showing care and understanding for all living things. I am identifying and respecting diversity in my local community and the wider world.
Physical Development
I will be using my acquired skills to negotiate space, use equipment and manage most risks I face. I use my dominant hand while using tools and equipment safely, including to write some of my name.
Expressive Art and Design
I will be exploring expression through music and art, and using this to understand emotions. With my experiences of different mediums I can now understand colour changes which are the building blocks to my future science lessons.
Mathematics
I will be comparing weights, sizes and different shapes while continuing to expand my mathematical language. I am noticing differences in the environment like patterns, and printed numbers.
Personal, Social and Emotional
I will be building relationships with others and resolve conflict during play. I am toilet trained and able to see to my personal care and hygiene needs, occasionally seeking help from an adult.
Literacy
I will be recognising some sounds and letters preparing me for school. I am able to recognise my name in print and other letters in books.
Communication and Language
I will be using sentences to communicate my thoughts and opinions. I am able to listen and understand those around me and show this by following instructions.
